About us

Foyle Friends of Ukraine is an initiative dedicated to assisting displaced Ukrainians in the North West of Northern Ireland via the ' Homes for Ukraine' scheme

Foyle Friends of Ukraine is a non profit organisation, established to bridge the gap between sponsors/hosts who wish to offer space to a person/family in need and those Ukrainians who are fleeing the horrors of the Russian invasion as part of the UK government Homes for Ukraine scheme

The humanitarian situation in Ukraine is increasingly desperate and millions of people have no safe place to call home.

The Homes for Ukraine scheme allows people who are fleeing Russia’s war in Ukraine to seek sanctuary in Northern Ireland and to be sponsored by those who can offer them a home, such as a spare room or unoccupied residence for at least 6 months.

Foyle Friends of Ukraine supports those who are willing and able to open their homes, by matching them with Ukrainians in need and facilitating online meet-ups, Visa applications, travel, arrivals, and ongoing support for both the sponsor and the Ukrainian family.

So whether you are interested in exploring the Homes for Ukraine scheme OR you have already registered with the scheme and have not yet found a family or individual to sponsor, please get in touch with our team. We desperately need more kind sponsors.

If you are in a position to offer housing or support to an individual or family from Ukraine, you are kindly invited to register your interest online. The sign-up form can be found at HERE.

The story of Children in Crossfire, has its roots in what began as a tragedy and ended as a triumph of the human spirit to overcome adversity. Founded in 1996 by Richard Moore who was blinded as a 10 year old boy in 1972 during the Northern Ireland conflict, Children in Crossfire supports projects helping some of the most vulnerable children on the planet that suffer from the injustice of poverty. We work in partnership with local organisations in Tanzania and Ethiopia to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged young children, with a particular focus on Early Childhood Education (ECE). In Ireland, we work in schools and with the general public to raise awareness of global justice issues, and advocate for increased investment in ECE.

Established in 2018, Hypixel Studios is a Derry~Londonderry-based video game developer. The company supports a number of local causes including Aware NI, Autism NI, Foyle Search and Rescue, NI Children's Hospice, Foyle Foodbank, and Foyle Women's Aid.
